The HP xw4600 Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6600 workstation is equipped with an Intel® Core™2 Quad processor running at 2.4 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache and a front side bus speed of 1066 MHz. It features DDR2-SDRAM memory up to 4 GB installed but can support up to 8 GB in total. This minitower workstation includes a 500 GB hard disk drive with SATA interface and a rotational speed of 7200 RPM.
The workstation supports various I/O ports including USB 2.0, VGA port, Ethernet LAN, microphone input/output, serial and parallel ports, and two PS/2 keyboard/mouse connectors. Additionally, it has 9 USB 2.0 ports on the front panel for easy connectivity. For higher-speed data transfer, there are seven additional USB 2.0 ports available on both the front and rear panels.
Audio capabilities include integrated high-definition sound system with jack re-tasking functionality and options for an external PCI Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music card if desired. Storage drives consist of three external 5.25″ bays and one optional floppy drive bay as well as two internal 3.5″ bays that accommodate a maximum storage capacity of 500 GB per drive.
