HP OfficeJet J4680 is equipped with thermal inkjet technology for printing mono documents at resolutions up to 4800 x 1200 DPI. It offers standard black print speeds of 9 ppm and colour print speeds of 6.5 ppm on A4/US Letter paper. The machine supports color copying but does not offer duplex functionality in either printing or copying modes.

For scanning purposes, it provides high-resolution color scans at 1200 x 1200 DPI using CIS technology. Scanning capabilities are limited to flatbed format without duplex options.
